ConLabZ.tml
Uses contour labels to assign elevations to 2D contour lines.
ConLabZ.tml will:
- Assign elevations to contour lines that are labeled with elevations.
- Use the information labeled on the drawing.
- Save you time assigning elevations to 2D drawings.
How to use ConLabZ.tml
After downloading ConLabZ.* to the Terramodel installation folder\Terramodel\tmls
folder, open a Terramodel project and type conlabz at the command line
and press the < enter > key.
You will see the following:
- Labels: Select the elevation labels of the contours. You
may wish to select by layer to grab all of the text on the contour layer.
- Contours: Select the contour lines. Again, you may wish to
select by layer to grab all of the contours on the contour layer.
- Settings: Specify the settings for the assignment of elevations
from the selected labels.
ConLabZ Settings

- Lines cross through labels: Select this if contour lines
are not clipped but rather running through the contour labels as follows...
- Lines begin or end at labels: Select this if the contour
lines are clipped at the labels as follows...
- Maximum Elevation: Set the maximum elevation for the contours.
This setting helps prevent errors. Contours above this elevation will not be assigned
elevations.
- Minimum Elevation: Set the minimum elevation for the contours.
Contours below this elevation will not be assigned elevations.
- Label interval: Specify the interval for the labels. For
example, if the labels are 100, 105, 110 ... then the label interval is 5.
- Color of changed contours: Set the color of the contours
that are assigned elevations to easily see which contours have been changed.
- Maximum distance from line to label: This setting controls
the distance from the contour line to it's label. If the contour lines cross through
the labels, then the distance from the center, middle of the text to the line
is used. If the contours lines are clipped at the labels then the distance from
either the left, middle or right, middle of the text to the line is used.
- Treat elevation zero as 2D: Check this setting if zero is
NOT a valid elevation for your DTM.
Programmer's Note:
This command is designed to run with the following other tmls to assign elevations
to a 2D contour drawing: IntCon.tml, AssignZ.tml and 3DPL.tml.
